A few shots of Christmas decor to share with you lovelies in blogger-land.  I hope everyone is enjoying the season.  It is really cold here.  With the wind chill last night it was down to 5 degrees.   Brrrrr.

These are in no particular order.
I hope you enjoy them.
Have a great day!

My pink tree that brightens up my bathroom sink:

A decorative set of mittens on a string that are cute:

One of the shots of the Christmas Tree.  It looks like it is leaning but it is just the shot.

A cute tiny little gazebo I found:

My little village.  I love it.  My Aunt Sherry got for me years ago and I was so happy because I didn't have a village and this one was small which was great because I didn't want a huge one.  I would never have room for anything like that.  I have been adding a few pieces here and there-- the Dollar Tree has some cute ones (like this gate I got there) that are the size of mine so that is cool.

This little snowman was an ornament that cracks me up he is so cute.  He is cuter sitting on a shelf than hanging on a tree anyway.  lol

Another shot of the tree:

This one looks weird on the blog but really is a neat shot of the outside of the house looking in at the tree.  If you can click on it to make it bigger I think it will look  more real.

Some of the ornaments:

  Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Good evening all in bloggerland!
I read a post about headboards from A house in the roses and how she was deciding on what kind of headboard to get.  She had great pics of some ideas and so I thought I would do a post showing my new design for the wall above the bed.   I still want to add a shelf and a few more things to the wall but it is so much better than it was.  {The wine glass candles were the only 2 matching ones I could find for now.  lol}
Unfortunately there isn't a wall big enough to center the bed on so mine kinda looks strange next to another curtain but I still like it.

This is a close up of the curtains at the top--just gathered and held with wire and roses strung on the wire.

This is the picture of the idea I based it on (from someone's blog but I don't remember where).  I didn't have money for a new headboard and I knew when I saw this pic. I knew I had some curtains still in the package so I got them out and did what I could to start making it based on the pic here.

Just a couple more pretty ones I found somewhere on the net and I thought I'd throw them in for eye candy!

Have a great night and if you have any ideas for mine to look more complete, please let me know.  I am looking for a way to finish/add more things.

Let me take you on a tour of my Craft Room

So, I figure many of you thought I stopped blogging altogether; but I just have not been getting much computer time in to do any blogging.

Anyhoo~~  I got my craft room done finally!!!!!  I am so excited to go in there and get some crafting done.  There has been no real area big enough to do any crafting due to all the clutter.  There are, of course, some things left to sort and do, but it is the most done I have ever had a craft room.  Everything is at least separated into categories and with like items.  So, without further ado..........

This is what you see when you first walk in the door:

Then, when you turn to the right, this is one of the windows and my stamp wall.  I have shown it before, but now I added a place for foam stamps since they wouldn't stay on the shelf with the wooden ones.

(the foam ones):  they are all sticky back velcro  pieces and just stuck to a piece of plexiglass mounted on the wall.

Moving to the left of that corner, is my desk.
I am so very fortunate to have a desk like this.  I spotted it in an antique store one day and the guy wanted $1000 for it but he said that the roll top didn't work, and so he was selling it for $500.  He said he had layaway and so that is how I acquired it.
I have always loved it but almost got rid of it a few times because of the fact that it is so huge that it just wasn't working out in tiny apartments so, it was in storage for a great deal of time.  One of the places I had to store it was in a barn.  The weather was no friend to the desk.
So, to make a long story short.... It is in very poor shape but I still love it. So, it works out great for a craft desk because I don't have to worry about getting it messed up because it has no real "value" anymore, but I still love it and all it's little drawers.
I am so excited to get it back into use--it has been a few years.

Moving to the left of the desk is my storage shelf that I tried to make look decent by getting coordinating boxes when I could afford them.
--side note:  not sure why it looks like some of the shelves are buckling under the weight, they really are not.  Just the way the picture came out.  There isn't really anything heavy on any of the shelves.  lol

Then in this corner, I had some material for sewing projects stored in a tote and in boxes.  I didn't have any decorative boxes left.  So, I ended up putting a cloth over it to look like a table.  I kinda like how it came together and all fit with my sewing machine and sewing boxes perfectly on top.

Now, I need some suggestions on how to organize my sticker collection.  I know it is way too big, but anyway, I have folders separating the different categories but they are still too tall and wide to fit into any particular holder so, I just have them down in a tote.

Then moving to the left, here is my very practical (not so pretty) plastic drawers that hold a lot of  my goodies nice and organized.  I am planning on trying to fancy them up sometime.

And finishing the tour is my buttons collection in jars by colors.

Oh, just one more thing about my room that I love... I got this very old typewriter that I have been wanting to post pics. for a few weeks now.   I got it at a garage sale for only $5.00!!  I love having it.

Thank you so much for looking and I welcome any comments or suggestions.
Have a great day!

Need help with Decorating!!

So, here is my ugly shower surround.  I need some advice on what to do with it.  It is just this plastic piece sticking out.  I can't renovate or put it somewhere else or get a nicer one, so I just need to deal with what I have.

This is the view you see when walking into the bathroom:
And here is one of the front views:
This one is the left side where you can see all the pipes sticking out of the shower-- right out in the open.  The toilet is right next to it.  Mostly your shoulder touches the pipes when you are using the bathroom.
Another front view:

A little bit closer of the ugly pipes:

So, There it is and I REALLY could use some ideas on how to make it a little nicer looking.  I forgot until just now, that it sits on a cement slab that is painted black and that is ugly too and also the pipes on the bottom that run all around the back of the toilet are showing too.  ANY help would be very appreciated!!
Thank you in advance to anyone who gives any suggestions.
Have a fantastic day!

Today was quite eventful. Lil' Bear (the puppy) had some time getting comfortable being in my house and the 3 cats had quite the time being not too sure what to think. He did pretty good overall, but one time I had him in the yard trying to get him to go potty but he decided he wanted to play with the kitties and started running after them to play, well... they thought he was chasing them and so they all scattered and one ran up a tree, I was trying to stop the chaos because I wasn't sure where the puppy would run-- to the neighbors, across the road, who knows? So, I got a grip on the situation and made a make-shift leash out of yarn--- {you see, the reason he didn't have a leash on is because this little puppy is scared half to death of them. He is not used to them yet and thinks when he has one on, he can only lay down or cry.} So.... needless to say, later I went to the dollar store and got him one to keep here. My parents already have him a fancy retractable one that he won't even go near it when it is sitting on the floor! But, all in all, it was fun and he is really fun to be around.

The picture above is a bird that got stuck up inside my bird feeder a few days ago and I rescued him and since I had him in my hand, I had to get some pictures before I set him free. Then, I made sure that wasn't going to happen again.

Tomorrow I am planning on posting some pictures of my bathroom. I am in serious need of some decorating advice for it. I don't have money to renovate it but it is hideous looking. It only has a stand up shower--well, sort of-- more like a shower liner that you usually install as a surround inside a cubby in the wall, but there it is out in the open and ugly-- with that, the side of the shower has the water lines running right down out in the open! I will take some pics and see what everyone comes up with to make it a little more presentable.

(on a side note, I forgot to mention, for those that seen the previous post about moving, the move has been postponed until further notice. As of right now, I am not moving unless circumstances go back to what they were before. We will see. But, this is the first time I have felt peace about living here and want to make it pretty.)

I will stop rambling and get to bed so I can actually get stuff done tomorrow! lol. Have a great day!

Is he not the cutest??? For the next couple nights I will be puppy sitting to this little ball of happy energy. My parents are going away for a couple nights and so I told them I would watch him rather than put him in a kennel. My dad says he gets up a few times a night to go potty but I get up doing that kind of stuff anyway because I own 3 cats that have been being crazy lately and keeping me getting up several times every night anyway. So, it will be interesting. But he is so silly and happy so it is hard not to take him in.
For Labor Day, My parents and I went to the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk. It is the bridge that connects Upper Michigan with Lower Michigan. It is 5 miles long. It was hot and tiring but pretty fun. I have walked it a few times before but many years ago. This was the first time my mom went. My dad and I pushed her in a wheelchair and about halfway up the first side (the uphill side) someone came up to us and said, "Can I push for a while?" I thought he was joking and so I said, "sure!"--- he did! He took right over and I said, I can take back over, we thought you were joking. He told us that he wasn't and would get us to the halfway point. Wow! What a random act of kindness! So cool. He did too. All the rest of the uphill side he pushed. And so that was really nice.
These last 2 shots are from the bridge website. But I thought they were neat.

Have a great day all!!!!!

Well, Hello everyone! It has been so long since I posted. Lots of reasons-- lost Internet for a bit, going through some major changes in my life, and due to that, I figured I had nothing of interest to post, but as one of my favorite songs goes: I will praise You (God) in this Storm. So, I am working on that too. Besides, my life isn't HORRIBLE, just going through some rough times.
My Aunt Myrna has been here from New Mexico lately and we have had some fun. We had a girls day out with my Mom's other sister and that was really cool. We went to some of the places my Great Grandparents lived and my Parents lived for a while and the cemetery and such. It was neat to see and had a good time.
My Dad's brother was here for a little bit and we went to dinner and had fun on another occasion.
My Mom and I did their spare room over so when they have company, there is a place to stay, (and when I stay over). Just in time too because I will be moving in for a while till I can get back on my feet. I am blessed to have parents that are willing to take me in with welcome arms. They are great.
This is a lamp I found at an estate sale and my mom suggested I put it in that room since I really didn't have anywhere for it in my house and wasn't sure if the kitties would find all those hanging beads too attractive!

One of the mornings that I was staying there, I couldn't sleep and so I saw that the sun was coming up and jumped up and grabbed my camera and went out to get some shots:

And, another joy has been that my parents got a new puppy. He is a Pomeranian. He is like a little fuzzy teddy bear. He loves to be cuddled and is very funny. He keeps all of entertained. SO SO cute!!!! The pics aren't great but they are all I have for now. Hugs

I have lots of pics today for Outdoor Wednesday. It has been a busy week!

This is a cute little church my mumma and I stumbled upon the other day. I was driving a detour to a gas station and on the way home, was this little church on the corner. I had to stop and take some pictures of it.

Yesterday when I got to work, this golf cart was sitting in the employee lot, in a parking spot. It kinda cracked me up so I took a quick picture. Well, turns out that it was an employee. But the even funnier part is during our shift, it started raining-- hard-- REAL HARD! It started pouring buckets! So, he was asking if anyone knew how to turn a golf cart into a boat. lol.
This is the beautiful sunset I saw on the way to my parents house last night.
Then, here is something that I am trying for the first time. I read about these pictures you can capture from the sun rays and such called "flares". They are anything like rays or dots or anything the sun's glow gives off that your camera catches. I had to go try it. I took 104 pictures but came up with about 10 that caught the "flares" in them. So, not bad for a first try.
Then, this last pic has a story:
My kitties are strange (as all are) but one of their quirks are that they LOVE to go for walks. I have an alley past my back yard. Hardly ever does anyone drive on it, so I started taking walks up and down it every now and then to give the kitties something out of the ordinary to do because they follow me everywhere and they love it when I walk to the end of the driveway so I thought they might find this interesting. They do... A LOT! It is kinda funny because if I even head into the back yard, they come running in hopes that we are going to walk the alley.
So anyway.... On the way home a few days ago, a neighbor was having a garage sale and I stopped. She had a really pretty kitty in the driveway and we got to chatting about ours and I told her I just lived a few doors down and have 3 of my own. We shared a few stories and then she proceeded to tell me that there is a couple that actually walks their cats up and down the alley sometimes and the kitties just stay right at their heels, and if they don't she just calls them and they come running! {tee hee} I smiled sheepishly and said, "yeah, that would be me." She thought it was so cute and couldn't believe the cats actually walked with me. She said she never seen anything like it.
So, I took a picture the next day to share. Hope you get a kick out of it as much as we do.
Have a great day!
